TOLERANCE & UNDERSTANDING, A GREAT TOOL TO PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE

Some years back I was watching a preacher on satellite television, I cant really make out his name now,  He was like trying to preach Tolerance and peace amongst men and he cited example with the usual kitchen accident; like when your right hand accidentally cuts your left while chopping vegetables, and the question he asked was; will you put the knife in your left to cut back the right?

There is no need pondering over the answer  because it is obviously a No.  Funnily enough, it is the same right hand that will immediate thereafter take care of the injured left and then the chopping continues.  Why then cant we embrace this simple act of understanding and tolerance culture with one another as humans.

Looking back to the very first generations created, we all are of the same family.

TOLERANCE & UNDERSTANDING, A GREAT TOOL TO PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE.

What then is Peace?  Peace is an amorphous term in which no single detailed meaning can define what it is.  but simply put, for the purpose of discussion,  Peace is an occurrence of harmony characterized by the lack of violence, conflict behaviors and the freedom from fear of violence.  Although peace does not denote only the absence of violence, conflict or war but it is defined based on whatever the situation at hand and this is why it is an amorphous term in some circumstance when you talk about general peace for it includes peace of the mind, physical environment etc.

What then is Understanding?  Understanding means sympathetically aware of other people’s feelings; tolerant and forgiving, reassuring. an individual’s perception or judgement of a situation.  compassionate, sympathetic, sensitive, considerate, tender, kind, kindly, kind-hearted, thoughtful, tolerant, patient, forbearing, lenient, merciful, forgiving, humane, human, good-natured, approachable, supportive.  All these describes tolerance, understanding and peace itself.

It is only through understanding and tolerance we will be able to have peace with ourselves and others for it leads to forgiveness. Because when we tolerate and understand we will not be judgmental about people’s attitude for, we will verify and get facts before coming to conclusion about things generally even after conclusion there will be kind of accepting why a thing was so and you will be able to help the situation by improving it positively.    With this, there will be minimal conflict or destructive conflict anomgst men rather there will be more of constructive conflict towards opportunity to development.
