Yesterday, I was watching Channels Televisioin News Track and was saddened by a report showing youths vandalizing Electric Power Authority structures, in the name of anger. They claimed their Issue was that the neighborhood had no light for months yet, electric bills is been distributed.
My fellow Nigerian youths, when shall we grow out of this attitude of vandalizing properties or sometimes killing ourselves just to claim we want to drive our points home? It is high time we realised that whatever we vandalize, needs to be repaired thereby, causing set backs to our society because, resources to be used for other further developments, would first be used to repair the damages caused by reckless vandalism.
Election is here again, what will be our own individual contribution towards a successful election before, during and after the election, to create the kind of peaceful environment you and I wish to live in now, and in the future.
Steve Killelea, founder of Vision of Humanity in his Mission statement on the website of Vision of Humanity, says thus;
‘Without peace, we will be unable to achieve the level of cooperation, inclusiveness and social equity requires to solving global challenges (Pollution, Diseases, Climate change etc) let alone, empower the international institutions needed to regulate them.‘
Therefore, Nigerian Youths (My Sisters and especially my brothers) please,let us all join hands to make the comming election violence free irrespective of the outcome of the election. The not victorious, must accept his fate and understand the fact that, there must be a winner and a loser. We should all understand that,as a Nation which believes in Predestination, we should never forget that life comes in turns. whoever loses should join hands with the winner to build this Nation and not to destroy our Great Nigeria!
Create the kind of future in which you wish to live Now!
